In View but not In Hand.
Congrats to mah roomie! What can you say about a guy who successfully satellites to the WSOP ME in back to back years. That amazing feat speaks for itself. Kuh-huDoze 55, kudos.
Wish I was joining you down there, no doubt. Came close too; playing the FT 100 seat guarantee (139 actually). Climbed the ladder in my standard way middle to below middle of the pack the whole way, restealing a couple of times, connecting with the flop a few and getting a very fair (but by no means generous) smattering of premiums through 5 hours of play. I made two mistakes (originally I thought three, but I have run over the hands and really would say that folding to the reraise late with a small PP was right given the raiser). I tilt-called a shorty push with 33 to run into 99 and cost me a third of my stack way too late to be doing things like that when I didnt need the fight. Had been blown off two hands for 4k just prior and didnt want to see another 2k raise go bye-bye. Yeesh.
The conditions I was playing under had something to do with it: no air-conditioning and all three kids in the room at the time making a SHITload of noise. It is what it was; a very costly decision made in haste and stress. An orbit later I picked up AA and doubled with it. Had I not squandered those chips I would've been in excellent shape for the final run. Out in the three hundreds I think out of 3338 original donkeys. My high water mark was T20k for 190th/400, so it's not that I ever cracked the promised land, but still a very solid run in yet another deep field, big buyin MTT. I think I outlasted all the brethren, but in the end for naught. Ran J7o on the button into AA in the BB on my fourth position steal in 5 orbits. GG me. Really. Pretty damn good game.
But not without room for improvement.
Of course I can't get it out of my head. I was in such a positive frame of mind for most of that MTT; didnt bug me in the least that I ran the whole time in the middle to just below middle of the pack - that is my style. Patient, stealy, occasionally restealy, and willing to shove the draw. I am getting in the habit now of early trying to limp almost anything in position to look for a miracle flop. It's pretty fun and has been working well. I credit Chad for the inspiration but of course I don't pretend to do it nearly as well.
Downside: heartbreakingly close to an ME seat but for naught.
Upside: my MTT game is heating up again. I will go out on a limb and request the MWGB send me a decent Jordanesque style score. I'm due. And *cough, cough* I save lives for a living. If I don't deserve good treatment from the FT servers, which of you degenerates do?
Laytah.
Edit: 66th of 1400 and change in the 19k tonight. Yeah yeah donked the 50-50 and MATH...no multi-tabling from here on in for a week or two until I get used to playing period. Still, MWGB is clearly on the case. Top ten soooooooooooooon.

You EXTEND the lives of those who ate too many cheeseburgers. Let's be honest.
And you won 12K in one sitting last year and won many other nice scores. The only thing you "deserve" is a shark biting your ass.
(Upon reading this, it sounds angrier than intended. Blame the twins, or rather the lack of sleep they are causing. And nice to have you back posting. Thanks brotha!)
lol...peak having lived that sleep deprivation who am i to take offence to anything it induces! that was funny.
